1891 coach and half-back of the college rugby team that won the Hawke's Bay championships. Represented Hawke's Bay in tennis, cricket and hockey, and Turanga in golf.1904 coached Te Aute College rugby team to NSW and coached the All Blacks. 1910 won the Māori Tennis Singles Marumaru Cup. An accomplished composer.
